Tiny cannons
by James on May.09, 2010, under Random
Geek System has put up the a great story about a guy (no name given) who has built a tiny, yet functional, cannon that is no bigger than matchbook. Load it with gun powder, drop in a ball bearing, tamp it down, light and get away.
This tiny piece of artillery is the most awesome thing I have seen in a while and will change cubicle warfare as we know it.

How to spot a hidden handgun
by James on Mar.25, 2010, under Random
This interesting graphic, by Megan Jaegerman, sums up techniques that New York City police officers use to justify probable cause for a weapons search (concealed carry being generally illegal in New York and permits nigh impossible to obtain).
Most of these are avoidable. Behavior modification, and of course knowing that you aren’t breaking the law, can help you resist the urge to keep your hand from drifting to the pistol. A properly fitting holster can help reduce the need to reposition the pistol, particularly if it is small. Of course, the part about the clothes is just common sense, don’t wear a winter coat in the blistering summer heat.
