Happy belated One Month Blogversary!

It completely slipped past me but the 23rd was one month since I set up Under A Gibbous Moon. Here I am, just over one month, 58 posts and a handful of readers later, time just seems to fly by, particularly with NaNoWriMo. Here’s to an even better next month.
On the economics of Star Wars

I was recently watch A New Hope. When Obi-Wan Kenobi is taking Luke to Mos Eisley, he comments that no one will find, “a more wretched hive of scum and villainy”. Other than being a strange motto for the local chamber of commerce, it got me thinking. Why would the Empire tolerate such a place.
Given that the empire is evil and demonstrates little care for personal freedom, due process or anything but monochromatic uniforms, it struck me as odd that there should much, if any type of crime in the Galaxy. Continue reading “On the economics of Star Wars” »
So much padding left to do

Well the novel is finished. At least it is finished in the sense that I have reached “The End” (and no, I did not actually write that). Unfortunately I am at 44,778 words.
What this means is that I now have some serious padding to do. I mean editing, yes editing I like the sound of that better. As long as I can “edit” another 350 words or so into each scene I should be home free. And with a mere 5 days left to write. So much for sleeping.
