Man calls girlfriend a “Fat Chick”, is let out of jail

by on Nov.13, 2009, under Computers, News

Well, there’s more to it then that. According to CNN, Rodney Bradford was arrested for an armed mugging in the city of New York. He claimed to be innocent and his father said that he had been with him at his place at the time.

The DA wasn’t buying it until they showed him Bradford’s Facebook status update that went thusly:

On the phone with this fat chick… where my IHOP.

The fat chick in question was his pregnant girlfriend who was upset about missing out on a trip to the International House of Pancakes. With the time stamp and IP address obtained from Facebook, they were able to show that Bradford was across town approximately one minute before the robbery took place. On this evidence, he was released from jail.

No word as to whether or not he survived his girlfriends wrath.

The moral of this story? Even those banal, embarrassing or downright stupid Facebook posts could save you one day.

Salvador Rodriquez says he’d rather let someone be raped then be a snitch

by on Nov.13, 2009, under News, Rant

According to ABC, a witness named Salvador Rodriquez, 21, said:

People say, ‘Why didn’t I call the cops,’ but at the same time, I live in Richmond, a neighborhood like this, snitching is something you don’t do, you know…

Of course it’s not just him apparently. Another unidentified 16 year old witness said:

I feel like I could have done something but I don’t feel like I have any responsibility for anything that happened.

So it seems that’s what wrong with people who grow up in this “Urban Culture”. If it isn’t happening to them or someone they know it’s not their problem. Losing “street cred” and being called a snitch is what worries them more than what happened to this 15 year old girl.

Too bad there’s no crime that they can be charged with. Of course they might just take that as a badge of honor.
